4 Skincare Items You Need In Your Salon

If you are like most of the salons, we speak with you probably skip past some of the items in our catalog and focus on lotions and sunless products. That is why today we are going to highlight some of the other items we carry and offer tips to sell them as well!

As a member of the tanning industry, you are an expert in making skin look good. That is why it is important to be well versed in other skincare products. Plus, Millennials love skincare! Want younger tanners? You must speak their language. Remember they have grown up with influencers and beauty bloggers, some of them know more about beauty products than licensed beauty technicians. This brings us to our first product… Serums.

Serums are concentrated formulas only requiring a few drops per use. While Vitamin C is hot with the younger crowd the more mature crowd leans toward formulas like Collagen and Retinol. It is individualized skincare at its finest. Instead of buying a product that is for multiple skin issues you can get exactly what you need for your individual skin type.  Knowing this when you ask your customers what they are looking for in a product like a tanning lotion you can also get a hint at what they want in skincare. Are they looking to hydrate the skin? Show them a serum with Hyaluronic Acid, Jojoba, Almond Oil, or Collagen. Do they want to brighten their skin? Try Vitamin C or Sunflower. Acne-prone? Go for a Salicylic Acid. The options are endless.

While we are talking about serums another product that goes hand in hand is the micro-needler. These are rolled over the skin to help skincare products (such as serums) absorb deeper into the skin. They can be used over a sheet mask or directly on the skin.

While you have them talking skincare ask if they have a good habit of removing makeup before bed. Your body heals itself while you sleep, however going to bed with a face full of makeup can lead to clogged, and enlarged pores, acne breakouts, and excess oils. We all know what it is like to be tired and not wanting to spend the time to lather up with a cleanser and go through your entire beauty routine when you just want to go to bed. This is why makeup removing cloths are so popular. You can get rid of the makeup without the lengthy process of scrubbing. Remember how we mentioned above about Vitamin C and Retinol? We have remover wipes in both so you can please all customers by giving them a dose of skincare as they remove their makeup in one step.

Lastly, let’s talk about masks. Masks are the perfect “Me time” accessory. You might have noticed celeb’s posting photos of them with under-eye masks on their social media. What used to be a skincare treat has grown into a necessity for many men and women alike. From masks that bubble, sheet masks, and clay masks there are masks for everything including your feet! There are also patches to target face and body toning. We follow trends so that you can offer your customers the items they want. Are you giving your customers what they need?
