#ATE19 – Review

Wow, what a weekend! Over half the country was represented this year and all came to learn, collaborate, and relax. What a great gathering of salon owners and staff, vendor partners, equipment manufacturers, and industry leaders we had in attendance. It was a lot of information and knowledge in one place.

We loved seeing travel post from vendors and salons alike. Thank you to all who shared your experience with us and participated in our tagging contest. We know it takes time away from your business and families and we are humbled that you chose to share this time with us.

waiting for saleFriday started off with our famous “garage sale” although this year we held it at the hotel. Standing in a warm lobby is much nicer than waiting outside or in a cold warehouse! We are pleased to announce that there was no fighting, biting, or brawls during the sale. There were however deals to be had by all in attendance.

Friday also brought forth many newly certified sunless salons thanks to Norvell University Live. Salons were not only able to save money on the core class certification at this event, but they also received in person training from some of the most knowledgeable professionals in the industry.

Speaking of certifications, Sun is Life was also in attendance with UV certifications. These classes are vital to maintaining industry standards and keeping salons current on tanning information.

In addition, brands such as New Sunshine, Sun Evolutions, Norvell, and Devoted Creations held classes on products as well as sales and marketing tips. Giving salons an edge over their competition and direct information from their favorite brands.

We wrapped up Friday evening with our 80’s themed Welcome Reception. There were several “blasts from the past” as we had the likes of Marty McFly, Doc Brown, Michael Jackson, Madonna, George Michael, Maverick, and Goonies Chunk and Andie to name just a few! Networking was easy to do while enjoying arcade games, board games, DJ Smiley, and the interactive photo booth.

After a good night’s rest all were back bright and early Saturday morning to   enjoy our main stage speakers, games, and giveaways. Kizer and Bender    delivered a powerhouse presentation not only on main stage but also in     the owner’s workshop where they assisted salons with their marketing.   Salon staff also enjoyed their own workshop full of fun and learning.

Vendor exhibits were packed and there were more deals to be had there   as well with the cash and carry bags. The afternoon wrapped up with gratis   bags and winners. We hope all found room in their luggage to get their     goods home. Till next year friends, have a fantastic 2019!
